Mother Marie-Leonie Paradis

This woman joined the community of the Marianites of Holy Cross in 1854. Through her deep understanding of the priest's ministry and the importance of his function, she understood that he needed collaborators.

Through events and difficulties, she became the foundress of The Little Sisters of the Holy Family to support priests in their apostolic tasks by prayer and action.  She was able to give a solid formation to her Sisters, increasing their spirit of faith in God and filial devotion to his Church.

Her charisma of service was so contagious that more than 2000 women followed her.  Their apostolate flourished in more than 200 institutions of education and evangelization in Canada, the United States, Italy, Brazil, Haiti, Chile, 11 of which are located in Honduras and Guatemala in Central America.

Knowing her influence, Mr. Luc Fortin, Minister of Culture and Promotion of the French Language, declared her a historical figure in 2016..
